griefimage.I learned early in life that things never last. There are seasons in a persons life. I know we’ve all heard it our entire lives from our parents but to really embrace the concept and become cognizant of the changes you often have to experience them first hand. However, I’m here to tell you again. To urge you to wake up out of the brain fog of our routines lives and look beyond the day to day and imagine what you really want to do with the rest of your life.

I remember several crossroads in my life. Times when decisions I made affected the rest of my life. Sometimes I knew I was making them and often times I didn’t. But today, after 2 years of taking care of my elderly parents I recognize – all to well – one day you you will wake up and you won’t have the time to do all the things you’ve wanted to do. You will be gone and what will be left are the people you’ve loved. What is left is what you’ve given of yourself to others not the things you’ve collected.

Yes. It is nice to have things. Things that make you feel comfortable and make you smile.

Don’t waste time – it is something you can’t buy or ever get back.
